Today is Blog Action Day, the unifying global day of online action when bloggers around the world all write about one topic. This year it's "Inequality".
I decided to share this photo of Ruth Fremson (The New York Times) because in my opinion this picture is very representative of today's inequality.
The photo shows a child walking in a trash-strewn lot near the gated community of Hamilton Court in Gurgaon, India. I've never been to Gurgaon but the scenery is very similar to others I have seen in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi or Kolkata.
This is the crazy world where we all live. Almost half of the world’s wealth is now owned by just one percent of the population, and seven out of ten people live in countries where economic inequality has increased in the last 30 years. And the future is not very promising. We have much work ahead.
