Learn the Hindi alphabet

From today I will occasionally write some posts in English. I know there are people who read this blog from other countries, and I have friends scattered around the world, from India to US. In this way they will understand some posts, at least once in a while.

And to me, it is also a way to practice my English writing skills.

Let me begin with a post devoted to a small application that I developed recently. When I was in India last time, I tried to learn a little Hindi, with very poor results. These last few days I developed a small application by using Scratch, in order to practice the Hindi alphabet. Scratch is a programming language (developed at MIT) that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art ―and share your creations on the web. My application allows you to play with the Hindi vowels and consonants. It’s ideal for beginners. The application has a test format, and it is assumed that you already have some knowledge of the Devanagari syllabary.

I hope the program will help me to learn the Hindi alphabet finally!

Ally ha dit...

I think it's a good idea, even for us, the non English-speaking people. We'll also have the chance to practice our English reading and writing skills like you. Thanks!
